Play because it is fun

GuessOff is a game of deduction. Skill decides matches, and skill improves — but no amount of skill makes staked play a way to earn a living, and treating it as one is the fastest route to losing money you needed. If you are playing to recover something you have already lost, stop for the day.

What we do to keep it sane

  • One fixed stake to enter. Every duel starts at KSh 20 — KSh 100 for Chess — and there is no stake selector.
  • Rematches double the stake, and we want you to know it. Accepting a rematch stakes twice the match before it, so a player who just lost can win it back and more. That is a real chasing mechanic, so it is capped: after four doublings the ladder stops. Both players have to accept, the amount is shown before you commit, and you can never stake money you have not deposited.
  • Practice is free, forever. If your balance is low we offer you a free bot match rather than a deposit prompt.
  • We earn a 10% fee on every staked pot. We would rather say that plainly than claim our interests are perfectly aligned with yours. They are not: we earn more when you play more. That is precisely why the deposit limits and self-exclusion below are enforced by the server rather than left to our good intentions — a lowered limit applies immediately, and an exclusion cannot be lifted early, including by us.
  • No credit. You can only ever stake money you have already deposited.

Warning signs

  • Playing longer or more often than you intended.
  • Depositing money set aside for something else.
  • Hiding how much you play from people close to you.
  • Feeling that one more match will put things right.

Tools

  • Deposit limits. Set a daily, weekly and monthly cap on deposits in Settings. Lowering a limit applies immediately; raising one takes 48 hours, so it can't be used to undo itself in the moment it matters.
  • Self-exclusion. Lock matchmaking, tournaments, challenges and deposits for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or permanently, from Settings. You can always withdraw your balance while excluded. Once set, an exclusion cannot be shortened or lifted early — contact support to discuss a permanent exclusion.
  • Session reminders. A dismissible nudge appears after an hour of continuous play. Informational only — it never stops or pauses a match.

You can also close your account at any time and we will pay out your available balance. If you want us to block your account from re-registering, say so and we will.

You must be 18 or older to hold an account, and we ask you to confirm this at registration. If you believe someone under 18 is using GuessOff, tell us at support@guessoff.com and we will close the account and refund the balance.
